SWOAK SOCCER is seeking coaches and assistants for all House League age groups for the 2024 Outdoor Season.  

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need Experience?

• Prior soccer playing or coaching experience is an asset, but it is not required.  We provide coaches training at the beginning of the season as well as ongoing support and resources.
• Prospective coaches should have an interest in the positive development of the youth of Oakridge.

What if I Don't Have A Lot of Time but I still Want to Help?

• Are you going on vacation, work nights, travel on business, but you still want to be involved?  Let us know on the volunteer application.  We prefer to group the coaches together in teams of 2 or 3 to provide flexibility and ease the work for our volunteers.  The distribution of duties is the responsibility of the coaching team.

Do I Need a Police Check?

• Yes - All volunteers with the Southwest-Oakridge Soccer program require a valid volunteer police check that is not older than 2 years old.  It must be specific to our Soccer Association.
• You must email a hard copy of the police check to swoaksoccer@gmail.com prior to the beginning of the season.  More informaiton is available at https://www.londonpolice.ca/en/services/Vulnerable-Sector-Check.aspx#
• Vulnerable Sector Checks (VSC) can be applied for in person in London at London Police Service 601 Dundas St, London, ON N6B 1X1 or online at http://www.policesolutions.ca/checks/services/london/

I Am A Student.  Can I Still Volunteer?

• Yes - we'd love to have you as a part of our team.  This is also a great opportunity for high school students looking to complete their volunteer hour graduation requirements!

How Do I Volunteer? What is the Process?

• You need to complete a volunteer registraton form so that we can assign you as a volunteer on a team.  
• You can complete a volunteer registration form when you register your player.  If you have already registered your players follow the instructions below to complete the volunteer registration form now.
• You will be assigned to the team on which your player is placed if you have one in the program.
• Please forward your Police Check to www.swoaksoccer@gmail.com when it becomes available.
• All individuals volunteering with our teams this year are required to submit Volunteer Applicatons and sign off of the concussion awareness waiver that is attached.  This is a requirement of the Rowan's Law legisliation.  This form cannot be filled out by a spouse of the volunteer because of the inclusion of this waiver.

​Step-By-Step Volunteer Registration Process

• IF you already have an account - Click on our registration link: https://oakridgesoccer.powerupsports.com/index.php?page=LOGIN and LOG IN.
• If you do not have an account - your spouse signs the kids up - You will need to create one in the tab where the arrow is pointing to.

Once you have done this you will then be able to complete the form by clicking on Volunteer Now!  It shouldn’t take you very long, but all the fields are necessary.
